Converting Face-to-Face Classes for Virtual Delivery: How to effectively redesign and enhance learning for a global audience.

Reshaping (revising) face-to-face classroom courses for virtual delivery offers many appealing benefits. Topping the list:

  • Saving time and money on travel and materials
  • Extending the reach of the class to employees/participants in far-flung places
  • Attracting participants who enjoy using a new technology

But there is more to converting face-to-face classes for virtual delivery than first meets the eye.  It's tempting to think that if the class worked well in a face-to-face setting it can simply be picked up and plunked into a virtual environment without too much fanfare.

In this interactive session, we will explore critical design and delivery components that increase oth your engagement and transfer of learning.  We'll also discuss the pros and cons of both syles of delivery.

Presenter: Jonena Relth is a training consultant specializing in performance improvement.  As founder and President of TBD Consulting, Inc., Jonena brings to her clients 30 years of experience as a business owner of three companies.  She also served for nine years on the board of ASTD, where she held the position of president of the Valley of the Sun Chapter in 1999.  Jonena founded Contact Center Networking Dinner (CCND), an organization for executives to meet with their peers, participate in executive-level workshops and facilitate problem solving sessions that affect the call-center industry.  She is the founder of Learning Innovation Island in Second Life and continues to work with the new owner and residents.
